April update and shows

Hello!

I have been hard at work toiling away in the studio, and I am very excited to share with you what is being created... you will have to wait a little longer but it will be worth it - I promise :-D

Along with recording, I have been planning a few tours, as well as more local shows. This month is no exception, I will be on the road a bit with a great project called "Going To Graceland". It's a ten-piece band that plays Paul Simon's "Graceland" album front to back.... I am a relatively new addition to the group, and I am having a blast. We will be touring Alberta with that project for a few weeks this month, so be sure to keep your eyes and ears peeled!

For myself, I have two very wonderful shows coming up in April:

April 9th, JTMF Artist's For Life Fundraiser, The Needle Vinyl Tavern
This event is AMAZING! This will be the 3rd year I am a part of it, and I cannot express how fun it is. AND it's for a great cause! Join me (and I'm bringing the full band!), The Wet Secrets, Mei Mei, and some beautiful poets as we support YESS and Kindred House at the Boyle McCauley Health Centre. Buy your                   tickets HERE as they will sell out!

April 23rd, Edmonton Poetry Festival presents "Waitsing Around", Latitude 53
This one will be a doozy. Four musicians. Four Poets. All Tom Waits. Listen and enjoy as we celebrate the works of Tom Waits, reimagined by the musicians and accompanied by original works from the poets. Join myself alongside Jenie Thai, Joe Nolan, Luke Thompson, with poets Liam Coady, Megan Dart, Colin     Matty, Tabitha Carol Anne, Tim Mikula, Vanessa Caicedo-Cardona, and Shima Robinson (aka Dwenimen) for a night you won't soon forget! Buy your tickets                       for that HERE.

Can't wait to see you out there!

Back in the studio, some February shows too

Hello!

I hope everyone has been having an amazing start to their 2016 - the year of the monkey. I don't know about you, but I was born in the year of the rat, and as I get older I can see my resemblance to a rat become more apparent- my love for cheese, my pear-shaped body, even the long whiskers on my face. All I know is that I better keep an eye out for any large, human-sized mouse traps.

I have headed into the studio (huge thanks to the Jim Pattison Radio Group and FACTOR for their financial assistance on this album), and I can't tell you how excited I am for the world to hear my songs, some new and some old, but all with a different spin on them than what you may have been used to.

Besides being in the studio, writing new tunes, and eating chocolate, I also have been working on getting a few shows together in the Edmonton area...

Saturday Feb. 20th 5:45 - Silver Skate Festival Tent (Hawrelak Park/Edmonton)

Monday Feb. 22nd 8:00 - Sideliners/Edmonton

Friday February 26th 7:30 - BAM House Concert/Spruce Grove (please email info@lindseywalkerband.com for tickets)

The next few months are going to be very busy, and I am very excited to share more shows with you as the year goes on. Please be sure to check back with my touring page - www.lindseywalkerband.com/tour for more details as they come available.

Love to you all, and see you soon!

Happy Holidays from me to you!

2015 has been a very busy and exciting year - filled with tours that took me from the Atlantic to the Pacific and back again, many shows (just shy of 100!!!), and meeting amazing people all around this wonderful country.

Thank you so much for your support over this past year. I couldn't have done all this crazy stuff without you.

I look forward to a very exciting 2016, starting with me heading into the studio January 2nd - keep your eyes and ears peeled for updates as I record my full-length album!

Until then, here is a video of me and a few members of my band playing "Never Too Late" in Edmonton's River Valley on a beautifully warm autumn day. Big thanks to Evan with Live in YEG for filming this for us!

Thank you and have a wonderful holiday season filled with joy and love,

lindsey

Last time I was in Vancouver I met this guy in Stanley Park:

I wonder if I'll see him again? Or the starfish that is in his mouth?

Only time will tell.

See you soon,

Hello!

Hope you all had a great summer! Things are rocking over here at "Lindsey Walker Central" (that's what I call my old oak desk located by my cat's food dish where I am typing this from)!
I am pleased as punch to share with you two videos that I recorded with The Northern Sessions here in Edmonton over the summer, and I am delighted with how they turned out. Below are links to two tracks (which will also be on my next album) - Falling Tree, and Falling In Your Light!
